I was born and raised in Plano, Texas as an only child. Growing up, I had a passion for playing sports and fell in love with the game of soccer. My supportive parents cheered me on game after game and traveled across the country with my team to many tournaments. My skillset afforded me the exciting opportunity to play Division I college soccer at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas my freshman year later to transfer to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) to be an Ole Miss Rebel. I had a professor at SMU who got me excited about psychology, not to mention I’ve always been intrigued with why people behave the way they do. When I arrived at Ole Miss my sophomore year for pre-season training as a college athlete, I worked with the university advisors to declare a major and I chose psychology. Many people change their majors while they're in school but I never did. I graduated from Ole Miss with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and went on to achieve my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at Tyler. I met my other half Mike on one unexpected night at Ole Miss and we’ve been happily married for 8 years living in Arlington, Texas with our English bulldog Gus. We both enjoy sports & love to travel. Thus far in my career, I have been given the opportunity to work in the nonprofit setting, corrections, community mental health and substance use treatment centers. Along the way, I’ve earned my credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I currently serve as Senior Director of Outpatient Clinical Operations for All Points North. I also work part-time for Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth providing counseling services to the student athletes. I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge the person who has been a mentor to me throughout my life – my father. I got my work ethic from him. He taught me to set my expectations high and not be afraid to fail. Every year when I went off to college, he would leave me a note somewhere in my luggage that always said: “Work hard, have fun and be true to yourself”. My father has instilled within me valuable life lessons and the determination to reach the next level in my career. I have him to thank for where I am today.
